English Day 2025: Celebrating Language, Talent, and God’s Gifts

English Day 2025 was a lively and joyful event. Students, teachers, and guests came together to celebrate creativity, confidence, and God-given talents. It was a day where language came alive through songs, speeches, and stories. We were reminded that words, when used well, can build others up, encourage them, and glorify God.

The day began beautifully with the Light Choir singing Holy Forever. Their music set hearts in tune with worship. After that, the program was full of excitement: Primary and Lower Secondary students performed a charming Snow White drama. Upper Secondary students gave a hilarious Mind Your Language show that even made teachers giggle! Students of all ages also shared poems, speeches, and recitations. Music, drama, and public speaking came together like one big story, showing the joy of learning and growing together.

We were honoured to have our Chief Guest, Ms. Vera Groenendal, whose encouraging words inspired everyone. Special thanks go to our Principal, Mr. David Ribakov, for his leadership—and for cheering every performance with a smile (and maybe a few hidden butterflies!).

The success of English Day was thanks to the dedication of the organising committee, led by the energetic Teacher Kawini. Thanks also to Tr. Poornima and the wonderful team—Tr. Gihani, Tr. Denishiya, Tr. Valentina, Tr. Ravindy, Tr. Nipuni, Tr. Suresha, Tr. Sarani, and Tr. Thusini—whose teamwork made the day shine.

From decorations to media, backstage coordination to music, every teacher, student, and staff member played an important role. English Day reminded us that language is more than grammar or vocabulary. It is a gift from God, given to express truth, share joy, and connect hearts.

To every student who spoke, sang, or acted with courage—well done! And to every teacher and parent who encouraged them—thank you. English Day 2025 was not just a celebration of language. It was a reminder that when we use our words well, we reflect the God who is Himself the Word.
